| In a properly engineered building, people
are comfortable. The chief objective of TOLK's design efforts is
to create a comfortable, hospitable building environment.
To create this sense of well being for building occupants, our professional
engineers must address all of the facets that together produce comfort:
- Physiological: The temperature, humidity and air circulation must remain within the narrow range that most people find satisfying.
- Visual: Lighting intensity and contrast must complement the tasks performed by the occupants.
- Auditory: Noise generated by building systems should not intrude on the activities of the tenants.
- Respiratory: Pollutants and odors must be extracted from the space to maintain air purity.
